Neutrophil Cathepsin G Increases Transendothelial Albumin Flux

open access: yes, 1989
Neutrophlls are involved in the development of inflammatory edema in some animal models, but their mechanisms of action are not completely understood. Among injurious agents available for neutrophil-mediated injury are cationic proteins such as cathepsin

Neutrophil cathepsin G enhances human platelet aggregation.

open access: yes, 2013
A. Platelet aggregation in response to thrombin receptor activating peptide (TRAP) was determined by impedance aggregometry in platelet rich plasma (PRP) in the presence (5×103 neutrophils/µl) and absence of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) and ...

In Situ Bioorthogonal Synthesis of PROTACs via Dual‐Responsive Cleavage for Synergistic Photo‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioactive self‐delivering SNAP‐TAC platform responds to tumor‐associated cathepsin B and glutathione, enabling in situ bioorthogonal synthesis of a BRD4‐degrading proteolysis‐targeting chimera within the tumor microenvironment. The resulting BRD4 degradation and PD‐L1 downregulation synergize with photodynamic therapy‐induced immunogenic cell death ...

LAPTM5 Downregulation‐Driven VAMP8 Phosphorylation Impairs Autophagosome‐Lysosome Fusion and Aggravates Septic Acute Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LAPTM5 functions as a critical molecular scaffold bridging PGAM5 and VAMP to facilitate PGAM5‐mediated dephosphorylation of VAMP8. This cascade promotes autophagosome‐lysosome fusion, restores impaired autophagic flux, and clears damaged mitochondria, thereby mitigating cellular oxidative stress and systemic inflammation.

Cathepsin G and thrombin: evidence for two different platelet receptors

open access: yes, 1994
Neutrophil cathepsin G and thrombin, the only platelet agonists that are proteases, exhibit a mandatory requirement for catalytic activity to induce platelet aggregation and signal transduction. The thrombin receptor is a G-protein-coupled receptor which

The Role of Neutrophil Proteins on the Amyloid Beta-RAGE Axis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
We previously showed an elevated expression of the neutrophil protein, cationic antimicrobial protein of 37kDa (CAP37), in brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), suggesting that CAP37 could be involved in AD pathogenesis.

β‐Adducin Restrains PLA2G4A‐Dependent Lysosomal Membrane Permeabilization and Neuronal Death in Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies β‐adducin as a regulator of lysosomal integrity in ischemic neurons. Ischemia‐associated FTO loss increases m6A modification and destabilizes Add2 mRNA, reducing β‐adducin expression and promoting PLA2G4A accumulation at lysosomes.

Neutrophil cathepsin G is specifically decreased under vitamin A deficiency [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Vitamin A deficiency leads to an increased susceptibility to infections, increased severity of infections and increased mortality. Because the neutrophil is the first cell to respond to infection, this study explores the effect of vitamin A deficiency on

Downregulation of interleukin 36γ and its cleaver cathepsin G following treatment with narrow-band ultraviolet B phototherapy in psoriasis vulgaris

open access: yes, 2022
Background Growing evidence suggests the important role of IL-36 in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Cathepsin G is a neutrophil-derived protease that can activate IL-36γ.

Eryptotic Phenotype in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia: Contribution of Neutrophilic Cathepsin G

open access: yesAnemia, 2012
In pathological conditions with concurrent neutrophilia, modifications of erythrocyte membrane proteins are reported. In chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), a myeloproliferative disease wherein neutrophilia is accompanied by enhanced erythrophagocytosis, we ...
