Caveolin-1 Is Essential for Liver Regeneration [PDF]

open access: possibleScience, 2006
Liver regeneration is an orchestrated cellular response that coordinates cell activation, lipid metabolism, and cell division. We found that caveolin-1 gene–disrupted mice ( cav1 –/– mice) exhibited impaired liver regeneration and low survival after a partial hepatectomy ...

Atherosclerosis, Caveolae and Caveolin-1

2012
Atherosclerosis is a disease of the blood vessel characterized by the development of an arterial occlusion containing lipid and cellular deposits. Caveolae are 50-100 nm cell surface plasma membrane invaginations that are believed to play an important role in the regulation of cellular signaling and transport of molecules among others. These organelles

PrP octarepeats region determined the interaction with caveolin-1 and phosphorylation of caveolin-1 and Fyn

Medical Microbiology and Immunology, 2013
Caveolin-1 is one of the major constituents of caveolae. Both Cav-1 and PrP are plasma membrane proteins, which show active capacities for molecular interactions with many other proteins or agents, including themselves. Using yeast two-hybrid system and immunoprecipitation, we reconfirmed the molecular interaction between human Cav-1 and PrP.

Caveolin‐1 in oncogenic metabolic symbiosis

International Journal of Cancer, 2020
Metabolic phenotypes of cancer cells are heterogeneous and flexible as a tumor mass is a hurriedly evolving system capable of constant adaptation to oxygen and nutrient availability. The exact type of cancer metabolism arises from the combined effects of factors intrinsic to the cancer cells and factors proposed by the tumor microenvironment.
