CD40×HER2 bispecific antibody overcomes the CCL2-induced trastuzumab resistance in HER2-positive gastric cancer

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, 2022
Background There was much hard work to study the trastuzumab resistance in HER2-positive gastric cancer (GC), but the information which would reveal this abstruse mechanism is little. In this study, we aimed to investigate the roles of tumor cell-derived

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Mammary tumor-derived CCL2 enhances pro-metastatic systemic inflammation through upregulation of IL1β in tumor-associated macrophages

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2017
Patients with primary solid malignancies frequently exhibit signs of systemic inflammation. Notably, elevated levels of neutrophils and their associated soluble mediators are regularly observed in cancer patients, and correlate with reduced survival and ...

Continuous Delivery of Neutralizing Antibodies Elevate CCL2 Levels in Mice Bearing MCF10CA1d Breast Tumor Xenografts

open access: yesTranslational Oncology, 2017
Chemokines are small soluble molecules that play critical roles in wound healing, infection, and cancer progression. In particular, overexpression of the C-C motif chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2) in multiple cancer types correlates with poor patient prognosis.

Breast Tumor-Derived Exosomal MicroRNA-200b-3p Promotes Specific Organ Metastasis Through Regulating CCL2 Expression in Lung Epithelial Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
Malignant metastasis is the most important cause of death in breast cancer (BC) patients, while the lung is a major inflammation and metastatic target organ.

Intracerebral Hemorrhage Induces Monocyte TNF Signaling in Patients That Is Suppressed by BAF312

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) causes high morbidity and mortality, with neurotoxic inflammation driven by infiltrating monocytes. This study is an in‐depth longitudinal examination of the immune response during the first week of ICH in the presence and absence of the immunomodulatory drug BAF312 (Siponimod).

A Modular Liver–Microbial Microfluidic Platform to Evaluate Therapeutic and Adverse Effects of Microbial Metabolites

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a modular microfluidic platform that connects liver cells with live microbes to mimic key aspects of the gut–liver interaction in steatosis. Using this system, both microbial metabolites and live bacteria significantly reduced fat accumulation in liver cells, but live microbes triggered inflammation and broader metabolic changes ...

The CCL2/CCR2 axis enhances vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 expression in human synovial fibroblasts. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2), also known as monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), belongs to the CC chemokine family that is associated with the disease status and outcomes of osteoarthritis (OA).

The CCL2-CCR2 astrocyte-cancer cell axis in tumor extravasation at the brain

open access: yesScience Advances, 2021
Astrocyte-secreted CCL2 promotes cancer cell extravasation at the brain via chemotaxis and chemokinesis. Although brain metastases are common in cancer patients, little is known about the mechanisms of cancer extravasation across the blood-brain barrier (
