Reorganization of Innate Immune Cell Lipid Profiles by Bioinspired Meroterpenoids to Limit Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Resolution pharmacology is an emerging strategy to tackle inflammatory pathologies. Bioinspired meroterpenoids induce a lipid mediator class switch toward inflammation resolution in vitro and in vivo by targeting key nodes in lipid mediator biosynthesis and neutral lipid dynamics.

CD16 expression is increased on monocytes of cancer patients.

open access: yes, 2012
The expression level of CD16 and TIE2 on monocyte subsets was determined for healthy individuals and patients with localized or metastatic colorectal cancer. Mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of CD16-PC5 staining was evaluated for intermediate CD14++CD16+

MicroRNA Regulation of CD16 in Human Natural Killer Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes capable of killing virus-infected and tumor cells while leaving normal tissue unharmed. CD16 is an Fc receptor that allows NK cells to perform antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) against tumor ...

CD56neg CD16+ cells represent a distinct mature NK cell subset with altered phenotype and are associated with adverse clinical outcome upon expansion in AML

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionAcute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a rare haematological cancer with poor 5-years overall survival (OS) and high relapse rate. Leukemic cells are sensitive to Natural Killer (NK) cell mediated killing.

BCG HSP70 Reprograms Macrophages via Central Trained Immunity to Suppress Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BCG‐derived HSP70 (Dnak) safely induces central trained immunity via epigenetic, metabolic, and O‐GlcNAcylation reprogramming of bone marrow progenitors, driving tumor‐associated macrophages toward an M1‐like phenotype to suppress prostate cancer. ABSTRACT Trained immunity offers a promising yet clinically challenging strategy for cancer immunotherapy,

FcγRIIIa expression on monocytes in rheumatoid arthritis: role in immune-complex stimulated TNF production and non-response to methotrexate therapy.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
ObjectiveThe expression of FcγRIIIa/CD16 may render monocytes targets for activation by IgG-containing immune complexes (IC). We investigated whether FcγRIIIa/CD16 was upregulated in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), associated with TNF production in response ...

Targeting Tex10 Overcomes Oxaliplatin Resistance by Competitively Disrupting the Non‐Canonical BAF Complex in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that Tex10 drives oxaliplatin resistance in colorectal cancer by competitively binding BRD9 to disrupt the ncBAF complex, thereby suppressing AMBRA1 transcription and ULK1‐mediated autophagy. Gemcitabine is identified as a direct Tex10 inhibitor that restores autophagy and overcomes resistance.

Modulatory Effects of CD14+CD16++ Monocytes on CD14++CD16− Monocytes : A Possible Explanation of Monocyte Alterations in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yes, 2014
: Objective In various chronic inflammatory processes, both the proportion and numbers of monocyte subsets are altered. In systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), this has not been clearly determined.

Alterations in Monocyte CD16 in Association with Diabetes Complications

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2012
Monocytes express many cell surface markers indicative of their inflammatory and activation status. Whether these markers are affected by diabetes and its complications is not known and was investigated in this study. Blood was obtained from 22 nondiabetic and 43 diabetic subjects with a duration of diabetes >10 years, including 25 without and 18 ...
