Tumor cells can fuel their metabolism with lactate. Here the authors show that inhibition of mitochondrial pyruvate carrier (MPC) blocks extracellular lactate uptake by promoting intracellular pyruvate accumulation and inhibits oxidative metabolism ...

Expansion of mixed immune cells using CD3/CD161 co-stimulation for the treatment of cancer
Adoptive cell transfer (ACT) is a type of personalized immunotherapy in which expanded immune cells are administered to patients with cancer. However, single-cell populations, such as killer T cells, dendritic cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and NKT ...

Super‐Resolution Ultrasound Based Cell Tracking With Polymeric Nanobubbles
This study presents a super‐resolution ultrasound platform for tracking cells in vivo. Biocompatible polymeric nanobubbles are used as highly echogenic intracellular labels. Following the injection of cells and microbubbles, ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) can dynamically match the microvascular architecture and individual cell trajectories ...

Activated human T cells secrete exosomes that participate in IL-2 mediated immune response signaling. [PDF]
It has previously been shown that nano-meter sized vesicles (30-100 nm), exosomes, secreted by antigen presenting cells can induce T cell responses thus showing the potential of exosomes to be used as immunological tools.

Zmiany ilościowe populacji limfocytów CD3+ i CD45RA+ we krwi szczurów poddanych działaniu wolnozmiennego pola elektromagnetycznego [PDF]
It was reported that an extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic field causes biological effects in vitro and in vivo. The major functions of the immune system are to develop the concept of "self" and eliminate what is "non-self". In our preliminary

Generation of CD3+ thymocytes.
(A) CD7hiCD3hi and CD7 dim CD3⁻ cells were detected at day 7. (B) By day 12 approximately 90% of all the cells generated were CD3+ thymocytes. (C) A matrix seeded with approximately 300 CD34+ cord blood derived progenitors generated about 2900 CD3+ cells

We demonstrated that high humidity worsened psoriasis relapse in murine psoriasiform skin inflammation by increasing skin‐resident memory CD8+ cells via upregulating IL‐15Rα on keratinocytes. The increases in IL‐15Rα and memory CD8+ cells were attributed to S. nepalensis and its metabolite ADMA in skin exposed to high humidity.

Analysis of IFNG expression in CD3+ and CD3- cell subsets.
PBMC from LTBI+ donors were stimulated with PPD or left unstimulated, stained with antibodies against surface markers as indicated, probed with Cy5-labeled IFNG probes, and analyzed by flow cytometry.
