Polymorphism of chicken CD8-alpha, but not CD8-beta
Immunogenetics, 1997We report here the structural basis of CD8 polymorphism in the chicken. Three chicken strains (RPRL Line 7, H.B15.H7, and H.B15. H12) have 14 nucleotide differences in the CD8A cDNA sequence causing eight amino acid replacements in the extracellular part of the molecule.

Publisher Summary The term “effector cell” best describes differentiated T cells with immediate TcR-triggered cytotoxicity or cytokine secretion, as detected in short-term assays, which are currently only feasible in vitro. Investigators agree that antigen recognition by naive CD8+ T cells does not result in either type of effector function (the IL-2

The Structure of the CD4 and CD8 Genes
Annual Review of Immunology, 1987The CD4 and CD8 glycoproteins are nonpolymorphic members of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily which are expressed on the surface of functionally distinct populations of T lymphocytes. These molecules, also known respectively as T4/Leu3 and T8/Leu2 in human, and as L3T4 and Lyt2/Lyt3 in mouse, appear to be essential for effective cell-cell inter ...

Anti-CD8 conjugated nanoparticles to target mammalian cells expressing CD8
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2010This work aimed at the development of targeted drug delivery systems using nanoparticles fused with antibodies. The antibody anti-human CD8 was coupled onto PLGA nanoparticles, and the ability of these particles to specifically target cells expressing CD8 was studied.
