Two subunits of human ORC are dispensable for DNA replication and proliferation

open access: yeseLife, 2016
The six-subunit Origin Recognition Complex (ORC) is believed to be an essential eukaryotic ATPase that binds to origins of replication as a ring-shaped heterohexamer to load MCM2-7 and initiate DNA replication. We have discovered that human cell lines in

Overexpression of CDT1 inhibits cell cycle progression at S phase by interacting with the mini‐chromosome maintenance complex and causes DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 2, Page 352-364, February 2026.
CDT1 is an essential protein for DNA replication licensing that loads the MCM complex, the eukaryotic replicative DNA helicase, onto replication origins. Overexpression of CDT1 induces cell cycle arrest at the S phase. Here we showed CDT1 inhibits the progression of replication forks by interacting with the MCM complex, leading to the stalling and ...

Yeast heterochromatin regulators Sir2 and Sir3 act directly at euchromatic DNA replication origins.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2018
Most active DNA replication origins are found within euchromatin, while origins within heterochromatin are often inactive or inhibited. In yeast, origin activity within heterochromatin is negatively controlled by the histone H4K16 deacetylase, Sir2, and ...

The Metacarpophalangeal Pattern Profile: An Old Method With New Insights Into the Evaluation of Short Stature

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Human Biology, Volume 38, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterize the metacarpophalangeal pattern profile (MCPP) of healthy children and adolescents from São Paulo, Brazil, and to establish percentile curves by chronological age (CA), bone age (BA), and sex using the LMS method. Additionally, to compare these findings with previous population‐based data and to apply the derived ...

The Intersection of m6A Methylation and Immune Response in PCOS: A Bioinformatics Perspective

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
N6‐methyladenosine RNA methylation regulators are intricately linked with the development of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and may influence immune cell infiltration in affected individuals. This study enhances our understanding of the molecular interactions in PCOS and suggests potential biomarkers for diagnosis and targets for therapeutic ...

Cdc6 and Cyclin E2 Are PTEN-Regulated Genes Associated with Human Prostate Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2009
Phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN) is frequently inactivated in metastatic prostate cancer, yet the molecular consequences of this and their association with the metastatic phenotype are incompletely understood.

Downregulation of Cdc6 inhibits tumorigenesis of osteosarcoma in vivo and in vitro

open access: yesBiomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, 2019
Osteosarcoma is the most frequent malignant bone cancer in teenagers. In this study, cell division cycle 6 (Cdc6) was upregulated in the tumor tissues from patients with osteosarcoma according to the results of RNA sequencing. Cdc6 has been considered as a candidate prognostic marker, which was associated with cell apoptosis and cell cycle.

Interaction between Yeast Cdc6 Protein and B-Type Cyclin/Cdc28 Kinases [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
During purification of recombinant Cdc6 expressed in yeast, we found that Cdc6 interacts with the critical cell cycle, cyclin-dependent protein kinase Cdc28.

Studies of the Orc1/Cdc6 component of pre-replication machinery of trypanosomes.

open access: yes, 2010

Diversity and evolution of multiple orc/cdc6-adjacent replication origins in haloarchaea

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2012
Background While multiple replication origins have been observed in archaea, considerably less is known about their evolutionary processes. Here, we performed a comparative analysis of the predicted (proved in part) orc/cdc6-associated replication ...
