Research and Review of Polymethyl-Methacrylate Copolymers in the Development of Enhanced Pharmaceutical Delivery Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The following thesis shall primarily explore the current research regarding the implementation of modifiable microscopic and nanoscopic polymer particles as novel pharmaceutical delivery systems. Polymethacrylate-based copolymers, such as EudragitTM, are

Comparative prevalences of Brachyspira aalborgi and Brachyspira (Serpulina) pilosicoli as etiologic agents of histologically identified intestinal spirochetosis in Australia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
DNA from gastrointestinal biopsy specimens from 28 Australian patients with histologic evidence of intestinal spirochetosis (IS) was subjected to PCRs to amplify segments of the 16S rRNA and NADH oxidase genes of Brachyspira aalborgi and Brachyspira ...

Microbiome-Metabolome Responses in the Cecum and Colon of Pig to a High Resistant Starch Diet

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2016
Currently, knowledge about the impact of long-term intake of high resistant starch diet on pig hindgut microbiota and metabolite profile is limited. In this study, a combination of the pyrosequencing and the mass spectrometry (MS)-based metabolomics ...

Biosynthesis of Sciadonic Acid Derived from Gymnosperms with Anti‐Colitis Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes an efficient Yarrowia lipolytica platform for unusual sciadonic acid (SCA) production and assess the anti‐colitis efficacy in mice of SCA, supporting its potential as a novel therapeutic lipid. ABSTRACT Sciadonic acid (SCA), Δ5‐unsaturated fatty acid with anti‐inflammatory and lipid‐regulatory properties, is predominantly derived

Changes in Expression of Key Genes in Ceca of Chicken Broilers as Affected by Glyphosate, Antibiotics and a Coccidiostat

open access: yesAnimals
Studies have shown the presence of residual amounts of the herbicide glyphosate in poultry feed, which leads to its bioaccumulation in the body. Recently, it has been established that exposure to low levels of glyphosate over a long period may have ...

Sodium Butyrate Modulates Mucosal Inflammation Injury Mediated by GPR41/43 in the Cecum of Goats Fed a High Concentration Diet

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
Emerging data indicate that excessive short chain fatty acids can mediate the downstream mitogen-activated protein kinase pathways by activating G-protein coupled receptor 41/43 (GPR41/43) to initiate the inflammatory response.

Sulfated Cyclocarya Paliurus Polysaccharide Sorchestrates the Gut Microbiome to Mobilize a Host‐Derived 12‐HEPE Against Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A sulfated polysaccharide (SCP) from Cyclocarya paliurus alleviates ulcerative colitis by reshaping the gut microbiome. This remodeled microbiota orchestrates the upregulation of the host‐derived lipid 12‐HEPE, which directly inhibits the TLR4/NF‐κB pathway to suppress inflammation.
