MeasureNet: Measurement Based Celiac Disease Identification [PDF]
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder triggered by the consumption of gluten. It causes damage to the villi, the finger-like projections in the small intestine that are responsible for nutrient absorption. Additionally, the crypts, which form the base of the villi, are also affected, impairing the regenerative process.

DomainScope: A disease network based on protein domain connections [PDF]
Protein domains are highly conserved functional units of proteins. Because they carry functionally significant information, the majority of the coding disease variants are located on domains. Additionally, domains are specific units of the proteins that can be targeted for drug delivery purposes.

Gluten‐free breadsticks with Ganoderma‐fermented corncobs: technological and nutritional features
Abstract Background This study investigates the use of corncobs before and after fermentation with Ganoderma annularis (G) to enhance the nutritional value of gluten‐free breadsticks. Medicinal mushrooms are known to increase the nutrient profile of substrates through solid‐state fermentation (SSF); nevertheless, using the entire SSF – as adopted in ...

IL-1 regulates the IL-23 response to wheat gliadin, the etiologic agent of Celiac Disease [PDF]
Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune disease prevalent in ~1% of the general population. CD is unique because both the major genetic (Human Leukocyte Antigen-DQ2/DQ8 alleles) and etiologic factors (dietary glutens) for susceptibility are known.
