The Role of Exosomes in Pancreatic Cancer From Bench to Clinical Application: An Updated Review
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains one of the most dismal gastrointestinal malignancies with an overall 5-year survival rate of 8%–9%. The intra-tumor heterogeneity and special tumor microenvironment in PDAC make it challenging to develop ...

Microvesicles as vehicles for tissue regeneration: Changing of the guards [PDF]
Purpose of Review: Microvesicles (MVs) have been recognised as mediators of stem cell function, enabling and guiding their regenerative effects. Recent Findings: MVs constitute one unique size class of extracellular vesicles (EVs) directly shed from ...

Anesthetics may modulate cancer surgical outcome: a possible role of miRNAs regulation
Background microRNAs (miRNAs) are single-stranded and noncoding RNA molecules that control post-transcriptional gene regulation. miRNAs can be tumor suppressors or oncogenes through various mechanism including cancer cell biology, cell-to-cell ...

Cell‐to‐Cell Communication and Vascular Dementia [PDF]
Please cite this paper as Dietrich HH. Cell‐to‐cell communication and vascular dementia. Microcirculation 19: 461–467, 2012.AbstractObjective: VaD is the second‐most common form of dementia, second only to that caused by AD. As the name indicates, VaD is predominantly considered a disease caused by vascular phenomena. Methods: In this invited review ...

An extracellular steric seeding mechanism for Eph-ephrin signaling platform assembly [PDF]
Erythropoetin-producing hepatoma (Eph) receptors are cell-surface protein tyrosine kinases mediating cell-cell communication. Upon activation, they form signaling clusters.

Distributed Storage in Mobile Wireless Networks with Device-to-Device Communication [PDF]
We consider the use of distributed storage (DS) to reduce the communication cost of content delivery in wireless networks. Content is stored (cached) in a number of mobile devices using an erasure correcting code.

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.
