Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Big Cells, Little Cells, Stem Cells [PDF]
See related article, pages 536–544 As of August 2003, the prevailing dogma posited that the heart is a terminally-differentiated organ, that the myocytes we have now are those we were born with (only bigger), and that the best hope for treating cardiac injury is to limit the insult (eg, by prompt reperfusion) or to block secondary maladaptive ...

Deciphering Membrane Proteins Through Deep Learning Models by Revealing Their Locale Within the Cell
Membrane proteins constitute essential biomolecules attached to or integrated into cellular and organelle membranes, playing diverse roles in cellular processes. Their precise localization is crucial for understanding their functions.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Adaptive Fuzzy Control for Power-Frequency Characteristic Regulation in High-RES Power Systems
Future power systems control will require large-scale activation of reserves at distribution level. Despite their high potential, distributed energy resources (DER) used for frequency control pose challenges due to unpredictability, grid bottlenecks, etc.

In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Cell Simulation as Cell Segmentation
AbstractSingle-cell spatial transcriptomics promises a highly detailed view of a cell’s transcriptional state and microenvironment, yet inaccurate cell segmentation can render this data murky by misattributing large numbers of transcripts to nearby cells or conjuring nonexistent cells.
