Mechanisms of radiation-induced neoplastic cell transformation [PDF]
Studies with cultured mammalian cells demonstrated clearly that radiation can transform cells directly and can enhance the cell transformation by oncogenic DNA viruses. In general, high-LET heavy-ion radiation can be more effective than X and gamma rays in inducing neoplastic cell transformation.

Absence of a dose-rate effect in the transformation of C3H 10T1/2 cells by α-particles [PDF]
The findings of Hill et al. (1984) on the greatly enhanced transformation frequencies at very low dose rates of fission neutrons induced us to perform an analogous study with -particles at comparable dose rates. Transformation frequencies were determined

Malignant transformation of abdominal wall endometriosis to clear cell carcinoma: case report
BACKGROUND: Malignant transformation of endometriosis in the abdominal wall is a rare and still poorly understood event. Less than 30 cases have been reported in the worldwide literature. Most cases of solid tumors are report in a previous abdominal scar

Inhibition of the growth of transformed and neoplastic cells by the dipeptide carnosine [PDF]
Human diploid fibroblasts growth normally in medium containing physiological concentrations of the naturally occurring dipeptide carnosine (beta-alanyl-L-histidine). These concentrations are cytotoxic to transformed and neoplastic cells lines in modified Eagle medium (MEM), whereas these cells grow vigorously in Dulbecco's modified Eagle medium (DMEM ...

Neoplastic transformation of breast epithelial cells by genotoxic stress [PDF]
Abstract Background Exposure to genotoxic stresses such as radiation and tobacco smoke can cause increased cancer incidence rate as reflected in an in depth meta-analysis of data for women and breast cancer incidence.

Primary splenic lymphoma on top of intrahepatic splenosis: A unique case report
Solid organ splenosis is a challenging diagnosis with many atypical imaging features that can overlap with neoplastic masses of the affected organ. We present a sporadic case of intrahepatic splenosis in a 68-year-old woman with transformation into a low-
