Mesenchymal stem cell transformation and sarcoma genesis
MSCs are hypothesized to potentially give rise to sarcomas after transformation and therefore serve as a good model to study sarcomagenesis. Both spontaneous and induced transformation of MSCs have been reported, however, spontaneous transformation has ...

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

A review of protocols for engineering human cardiac organoids
The use of human cardiac organoids (hCOs) as 3D in vitro models for cardiovascular research has shown great promise. Human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) have proven to be a potent source for engineering hCOs.

Cell transformation in tumor-development: a result of accumulation of Misrepairs of DNA through many generations of cells [PDF]
Development of a tumor is known to be a result of accumulation of DNA changes in somatic cells. However, the processes of how DNA changes are produced and how they accumulate in somatic cells are not clear. DNA changes include two types: point DNA mutations and chromosome changes.

CBP/p300 in cell growth, transformation, and development.
CREB binding protein (CBP) and p300 were both identified initially in protein interaction assays–the former through its association with the transcription factor CREB (Chrivia et al.

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

Thrombin Protease-activated Receptor-1 Signals through Gq- and G13-initiated MAPK Cascades Regulating c-Jun Expression to Induce Cell Transformation [PDF]
Although the ability of G protein-coupled receptors to stimulate normal and aberrant cell growth has been intensely investigated, the precise nature of the molecular mechanisms underlying their transforming potential are still not fully understood.

Pediatric lymphoma may develop by "one-step" cell transformation of a lymphoid cell [PDF]
Lymphomas are a large group of neoplasms developed from lymphoid cells (LCs) in lymph nodes (LNs) or lymphoid tissues (LTs). Some forms of lymphomas, including Burkitt lymphoma (BL), ALK+ anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALK+-ALCL), and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia (T-LBL), occur mainly in children and teenagers.

Spontaneous human adult stem cell transformation.
Human adult stem cells are being evaluated widely for various therapeutic approaches. Several recent clinical trials have reported their safety, showing them to be highly resistant to transformation.

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.
