Particle In Cell Simulation of Combustion Synthesis of TiC Nanoparticles

open access: yes, 2004
A coupled continuum-discrete numerical model is presented to study the synthesis of TiC nanosized aggregates during a self-propagating combustion synthesis (SHS) process. The overall model describes the transient of the basic mechanisms governing the SHS

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Small cell transformation of non‐small cell lung cancer under immunotherapy: Case series and literature review

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2021
In advanced lung cancer treatment, immunotherapy provides durable responses in some patients. However, other patients experience progressive disease and the resistance mechanisms to immunotherapy have yet been fully elucidated.

HP-multigrid as smoother algorithm for higher order discontinuous Galerkin discretizations of advection dominated flows. Part II. Optimization of the Runge-Kutta smoother [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Using a detailed multilevel analysis of the complete hp-Multigrid as Smoother algorithm accurate predictions are obtained of the spectral radius and operator norms of the multigrid error transformation operator.

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Epicardial cell transformation

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2010
The embryonic epicardium, which invests all the heart surface by midgestation, derives from an extracardiac progenitor tissue called the proepicardium. The embryonic epicardium gives rise to a population of mesenchymal cells called the epicardially‐derived cells (EPDCs) that populate the ...

Nanopipettes as Monitoring Probes for the Single Living Cell: State of the Art and Future Directions in Molecular Biology. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Examining the behavior of a single cell within its natural environment is valuable for understanding both the biological processes that control the function of cells and how injury or disease lead to pathological change of their function.
