RNA methyltransferase SPOUT1/CENP-32 links mitotic spindle organization with the neurodevelopmental disorder SpADMiSS

open access: yesNature Communications
SPOUT1/CENP-32 encodes a putative SPOUT RNA methyltransferase previously identified as a mitotic chromosome associated protein. SPOUT1/CENP-32 depletion leads to centrosome detachment from the spindle poles and chromosome misalignment.

SW-FCCS analysis of CENP-S and CENP-X.

open access: yes, 2018
(a): ACF curves of EGFP-(s)-CENP-S (green) and mCherry-(s)-CENP-X (red), and CCF curves (blue, purple) in the nucleoplasm of interphase HEK293 cells. The data show high cross-correlation between CENP-S and CENP-X, indicating an interaction between CENP-S

Identification of CENPW as a prognostic biomarker and potential therapeutic target for clear cell renal cell carcinoma

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
Centromere protein W (CENP-W) is essential for chromosome segregation and mitotic assembly and has been recognized as a prognostic marker in several cancers. However, its significance in clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remains underexplored.

Nucleolar activity and cenp-c regulate cenp-a and cal1 availability for centromere assembly in meiosis

open access: yes, 2018
The centromere-specific histone CENP-A is the key epigenetic determinant of centromere identity. Whereas most histones are removed from mature sperm, CENP-A is retained to mark paternal centromeres.
