APC/CFZR-1 Controls SAS-5 Levels To Regulate Centrosome Duplication in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesG3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics, 2017
As the primary microtubule-organizing center, centrosomes play a key role in establishing mitotic bipolar spindles that secure correct transmission of genomic content.

Three-dimensional structure of basal body triplet revealed by electron cryo-tomography. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Basal bodies and centrioles play central roles in microtubule (MT)-organizing centres within many eukaryotes. They share a barrel-shaped cylindrical structure composed of nine MT triplet blades.

CCDC69 maintains genome integrity by regulating KIF2C/MCAK depolymerase activity and the stability of the chromosomal passenger complex

open access: yesScientific Reports
Accurate genome inheritance during cell division relies on a complex chromosome segregation mechanism. This process occurs once all the kinetochores of sister chromatids are attached to microtubules emanating from the opposite poles of the mitotic ...

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

A role for a novel centrosome cycle in asymmetric cell division

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 2007
Tissue stem cells play a key role in tissue maintenance. Drosophila melanogaster central brain neuroblasts are excellent models for stem cell asymmetric division.

Mild replication stress causes premature centriole disengagement via a sub-critical Plk1 activity under the control of ATR-Chk1

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
A tight synchrony between the DNA and centrosome cycle is essential for genomic integrity. Centriole disengagement, which licenses centrosomes for duplication, occurs normally during mitotic exit. We recently demonstrated that mild DNA replication stress

Phase‐Separation of YAP Mediates AJUBA Super Enhancer Activation to Promote Aberrant Mitosis in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
YAP undergoes phase separation to activate the AJUBA super‐enhancer, driving aberrant mitosis through spindle checkpoint dysregulation in breast cancer. This study uncovers a mechanistic link between YAP condensates, super‐enhancer activation, and aneuploidy formation.

Basal body stability and ciliogenesis requires the conserved component Poc1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Centrioles are the foundation for centrosome and cilia formation. The biogenesis of centrioles is initiated by an assembly mechanism that first synthesizes the ninefold symmetrical cartwheel and subsequently leads to a stable cylindrical microtubule ...

Aurora A Kinase Begins to Localize to the Centrosome in the S-phase of the Cell Cycle in the XL2 Cell Line

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark
Background: The centrosome is one of the principal cell hubs, where numerous proteins important for intracellular regulatory processes are concentrated.

The SH2 domain and kinase activity of JAK2 target JAK2 to centrosome and regulate cell growth and centrosome amplification.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
JAK2 is cytokine-activated non-receptor tyrosine kinase. Although JAK2 is mainly localized at the plasma membrane, it is also present on the centrosome. In this study, we demonstrated that JAK2 localization to the centrosome depends on the SH2 domain and
