Investigation of the MeOH extract of Chaenomeles sinensis twigs resulted in the isolation of seven biphenyl compounds (1-7) including a new compound, chaenomin (1). The chemical structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated by extensive NMR data ((1)H and (13)C NMR, (1)H-(1)H COSY, HSQC and HMBC), specific optical rotation, and chemical reaction.

Lignan Glycosides from the Twigs of Chaenomeles sinensis and Their Biological Activities

Phytochemical investigation of the twigs of Chaenomeles sinensis led to the isolation and identification of six new lignan glycosides, chaenomiside A-F (1-6), along with five known ones (7-11). Purification and Characterization of a Lectin from Chinese Quince (Chaenomeles sinensis) Fruit

Chaenomeles sinensis lectin (CSL) was isolated from Chinese quince fruit by affinity chromatography. The molecular weight of native CSL was estimated to be 16 kD by gel filtration chromatography. This lectin was found to contain approximately 57% carbohydrates.
