Archaeal Cytoskeletal Protein CetZ1 Influences Assembly of the Motility Machinery
The Haloferax volcanii tubulin‐like protein CetZ1 is required for rod‐cell morphogenesis and motility. We show that CetZ1 loss or GTPase inactivation impairs assembly of the motility machinery, including the archaellum base protein ArlD, the chemotaxis adaptor CheW1, and the response regulator CheY.
