Stellar Abundances at the Center of Early-type Galaxies with Fine Structure
Our understanding of early-type galaxies (ETGs) has grown in the past decade with the advance of full-spectrum fitting techniques used to infer the properties of the stellar populations that make up the galaxy.

Chemical Yields from the First Stars
We examine the dependence of stellar yields on the metallicity Z of the stellar population. This effect may be important for the very first chemical enrichment from Population III stars, at very low Z.

Stochastic chemical enrichment in metal-poor systems [PDF]
A stochastic model of the chemical enrichment of metal-poor systems by core-collapse (Type II) supernovae is presented, allowing for large-scale mixing of the enriched material by turbulent motions and cloud collisions in the interstellar medium. Infall of pristine material is taken into account by following the evolution of the gas density in the ...

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

A Photoionization Model for the Infrared Coronal Line Emission in the Classical Nova V1716 Scorpii
A near-infrared spectrum of nova V1716 Scorpii (PNV J17224490-4137160), a recent bright ( ${V}_{\max }=7.3$ mag), Fermi-LAT detected γ -ray source, was modeled using the photoionization code CLOUDY.

AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

On the Origin of Abundance Variations in the Milky Way’s High-α Plateau
Using multielement abundances from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey APOGEE survey, we investigate the origin of abundance variations in Milky Way (MW) disk stars on the “high- α plateau,” with −0.5 ≤ [Mg/H] ≤ −0.1 and 0.25 ≤ [Mg/Fe] ≤ 0.35. The elevated [ α

PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Stellar abundance measurements are subject to systematic errors that induce extra scatter and artificial correlations in elemental abundance patterns. We derive empirical calibration offsets to remove systematic trends with surface gravity $\mathrm{log ...
