Chemokines, lymphocytes, and HIV

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 1998
Chemokines are members of a family of more than 30 human cytokines whose best-described activities are as chemotactic factors for leukocytes and that are presumed to be important in leukocyte recruitment and trafficking.

HMGB1 Derived from the Pyroptotic Microenvironment Promotes Macrophage Extracellular Traps in Hirschsprung‐Associated Enterocolitis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
HMGB1 derived from the pyroptotic environment in Hirschsprung‐associated enterocolitis mediates the formation of macrophage extracellular traps through TLR4 ‐p38 MAPK/p65 NF‐kB signaling pathways. Macrophage extracellular traps induce increased ROS production and pyroptosis of colonic epithelial cells.

Combining Bibliometric Analysis to Uncover the Detrimental and Protective Roles of Various Dendritic Cell Types in Cardiovascular Arterial Diseases

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark
Immune cell dysregulation is increasingly recognized as a pivotal pathological factor in cardiovascular disease. Over the past decade, a surge of research has focused on the role of immune cells such as dendritic cells (DCs), T cells, macrophages, and ...

3D In Vitro Models of Breast Cancer: Current Challenges and Future Prospects Toward Recapitulating the Microenvironment and Mimicking Key Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In vitro cancer models are advantageous for studying important processes such as tumorigenesis, cancer growth, invasion, and metastasis. The complexity and biological relevance increase depending on the model structure, organization, and composition of materials and cells.

Coxsackievirus B3 Infection Induced Viral Myocarditis by Regulating the Expression Pattern of Chemokines in Cardiac Myocytes

open access: yesIranian Journal of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, 2009
Viral myocarditis is a common cardiovascular disease, which has greatly threatened human health. However, up to now, the pathogenesis of viral myocarditis has been unclear, which leads to the lack of its effective treatments.

Adipose Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Exosomes in Conjunction with Roflumilast Ameliorate Chronic Kidney Disease Through the Modulation of Fibrosis and Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The novelty of this study showed that the injection of exosomes produced from ADMSCs in combination with Roflumilast poses a more favorable therapeutic outcome for CKD induced by Adriamycin, compared to therapy with exosomes or Roflumilast alone. Roflumilast and exosomes treatment lowered the expression of the apoptotic, fibrotic, and inflammatory ...
