Climacteric fruit ripening: Ethylene-dependent and independent regulation of ripening pathways in melon fruit [PDF]
Cantaloupe melons have a typical climacteric behaviour with ethylene playing a major role in the regulation of the ripening process and affecting the ripening rate.

Imbibitional Chilling Injury in Pollen [PDF]
Chilling injury is sustained by dry pollen of Typha latifolia L. upon hydration in germination medium at 0 degrees C. This injury is evidenced as poor germination, low vigor, and depressed respiration. Isolated mitochondria showed multiple sites of impaired electron transport.

Susceptibility of 'Lisbon' and 'Eureka' lemons to chilling injury [PDF]
'Eureka' and 'Lisbon' lemons (Citrus limon I,.) from the Burnett region in Queensland were stored for 14, 28 or 42 days at 1 degrees C followed by 7 days at 20 degrees C to compare their relative susceptibility to chilling injury. The potential effect of

ABSTRACT Subtotal hippocampal resection can leave residual hippocampal tissue, yet the immediate postoperative electrophysiologic evolution of such remnants is unknown. We describe a patient with drug‐resistant temporal lobe epilepsy in whom a hippocampal remnant was continuously monitored using a responsive neurostimulator (RNS) following subtotal ...

Research Progress on the Mechanism of Chilling Injury and Alleviating Measures in Peach Fruit
Peach fruit is easy perishable with its high respiration and ethylene emission peak after postharvest at room temperature for its climacteric character. Cold storage is one of the most effective way to extend the storage shelf life, however, peach fruit ...

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. MR scan of the brain demonstrated no lesions but revealed callosal dysgenesis, consistent with Shapiro syndrome.
