Continuous 28‐day light exposure alters behaviours of articular cartilage progenitor cells (ACPCs) and mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs). Co‐culture with Leptolyngbya and Synechococcus does not adversely affect the chondrogenic capacity of ACPCs over a 28‐day period, in contrast to co‐culture with Chlorella.

Molecular cloning and functional analyses of glutathione peroxidase homologous genes from Chlorella sp NJ-18 [PDF]
Photosynthetic organisms often encounter oxidative stresses due to changes of environmental conditions. In this study, two glutathione peroxidase (GPX) homologous genes, namely NJ-18Gpx1 and NJ-18Gpx2, were identified in Chlorella sp.

Auxin response and PIN‐mediated transport in chlorophyte algae
Like multicellular plants, green algae respond to auxin and move it across their cells. However, their PIN‐like proteins do not act like plant auxin exporters, suggesting that basic auxin transport evolved early and specialized directional transport appeared later in plant evolution.

Effect of the Breaking of Chlorella Cells on the Digestibility of Chlorella Protein

Abstract This mini‐review examines odd‐carbon polyunsaturated fatty acids (odd‐PUFAs), a rare but biologically significant group of fatty acids in photosynthetic microorganisms. Odd‐PUFAs are straight‐chain fatty acids containing an odd number of carbon atoms and two or more methylene‐interrupted double bonds. They typically account for less than 1% of
