Glutamate-gated Chloride Channels [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2012
Glutamate-gated chloride channels (GluCls) are found only in protostome invertebrate phyla but are closely related to mammalian glycine receptors. They have a number of roles in these animals, controlling locomotion and feeding and mediating sensory inputs into behavior.

Claudins in the Renal Collecting Duct [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The renal collecting duct fine-tunes urinary composition, and thereby, coordinates key physiological processes, such as volume/blood pressure regulation, electrolyte-free water reabsorption, and acid-base homeostasis.

Time-resolved energy transfer from single chloride terminated nanocrystals to graphene

open access: yes, 2014
We examine the time-resolved resonance energy transfer of excitons from single n-butyl amine-bound, chloride-terminated nanocrystals to two-dimensional graphene through time-correlated single photon counting. The radiative biexponential lifetime kinetics

Regulation of CLC-1 chloride channel biosynthesis by FKBP8 and Hsp90β. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Mutations in human CLC-1 chloride channel are associated with the skeletal muscle disorder myotonia congenita. The disease-causing mutant A531V manifests enhanced proteasomal degradation of CLC-1.

Exploring glutamate-gated chloride channels in cancer cells: A narrative review on a hypothetical mechanism underpinning the anticancer effects of antiparasitic drugs

open access: yesСибирский научный медицинский журнал
Chloride channels play a fundamental role in cellular homeostasis, influencing ion balance, pH regulation, and apoptotic signaling. While glutamate-gated chloride channels (GluCl) are traditionally restricted to invertebrates, recent evidence suggests ...

Positive modulation of the TMEM16B mediated currents by TRPV4 antagonist

open access: yesBiochemistry and Biophysics Reports, 2021
Calcium-activated chloride channels (CaCCs) play important roles in many physiological processes and their malfunction is implicated in diverse pathologies such as cancer, asthma, and hypertension.

Safety and efficacy of a combined paste formulation of a botanical extract of the latex of Croton lechleri (SB-300, Neonorm foal™) with probiotics for the treatment of watery diarrhea in nursing foals

open access: yesAnalecta Veterinaria, 2017
La diarrea es un desorden común en potrillos lactantes, y no se dispone de antidiarreicos antisecretorios específicos. El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la seguridad y eficacia de una formulación en pasta con cubierta entérica del extracto botánico ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
