Effect of chlorogenic acid on hydroxyl radical

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 2003
Chlorogenic acid (CGA) is considered to act as an antioxidant. However, the inhibitory effects of CGA on specific radical species are not well understood. Electron spin resonance (ESR) in combination with spin trapping techniques was utilized to detect free radicals.

On the variability of chlorogenic acid concentration

Oecologia, 1972
The plasticity of phenolic acid concentration in plants under various physiological stress situations raises questions concerning the ecological significance of such behavior. Helianthus annuus L. is remarkably plastic with regard to chlorogenic and ischlorogenic acid concentrations when subjected to nitrogen deficiency, NaCl-stress, short exposures to

On enzyme inhibition by oxidized chlorogenic acid

Life Sciences, 1964
Abstract The inhibiting action of oxidized chlorogenic acid (Ox-CGA) on the activity of several enzymes has been investigated. A comparative analysis of the effects of Ox-CGA with those of p-hydroxy-mercuri-benzoate seems to exclude the -SH groups of the proteins as the main site of action of Ox-CGA.
