Agricultural exposures to carbamate herbicides and fungicides and central nervous system tumour incidence in the cohort AGRICAN

open access: yesEnvironment International, 2019
Background: Pesticides exposures could be implicated in the excess of Central Nervous System (CNS) tumors observed in farmers, but evidence concerning individual pesticides remains limited.

Effects of different growth regulators on germination and main carbon-nitrogen metabolites contents during the storage period of potato tuber

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2016
The regulation of dormancy is very essential in the production of potato. To satisfy the demand of different sowing dates and to keep high rate of emergence and growth potential in seed potato, it always requires prolonging or shortening the dormancy ...

Review of the methodology used for the assessment of the short‐term (acute) dietary exposure to pesticide residues in food (IESTI methodology)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 23, Issue 2, February 2025.
Abstract In accordance with the mandate under Article 43 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, EFSA reviewed the methodology used for the assessment of the short‐term dietary exposure to pesticide residues currently used in the EU (also known as international estimated short‐term intake (IESTI) methodology) and elaborated three alternative options for ...

The 2022 European Union report on pesticide residues in food

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 22, Issue 4, April 2024.
Abstract Under European Union legislation (Article 32, Regulation (EC) No 396/2005), the European Food Safety Authority provides an annual report assessing the pesticide residue levels in foods on the European market. In 2022, 96.3% of the overall 110,829 samples analysed fell below the maximum residue level (MRL), 3.7% exceeded this level, of which 2 ...

Specific effects on the thyroid relevant for performing a dietary cumulative risk assessment of pesticide residues: 2024 update

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2024.
Abstract EFSA updated its previous work on the establishment of specific effects that are considered relevant for grouping pesticide residues targeting the thyroid and for performing the retrospective assessment of dietary cumulative risk (CRA). The two specific effects already selected in 2019 leading to the two cumulative assessment groups (CAGs ...

Effects of vapours of chlorpropham and ethofumesate on wild plant species

open access: yesEnvironmental Pollution, 2001
Effects of vapours of two herbicides on plantlets of fourteen wild higher plant species and two bryophytes were screened in fumigation experiments using foliar injury, chlorophyll fluorescence and growth as response parameters. After vaporisation of the herbicides for 48 h, concentrations in the chambers reached 77 micrograms m-3 in the chlorpropham ...

Combined in silico and in vitro approaches to identify P‐glycoprotein‐inhibiting pesticides

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 38, Issue 1, January 2024.
Abstract The P‐glycoprotein (P‐gp) efflux pump plays a major role in xenobiotic detoxification. The inhibition of its activity by environmental contaminants remains however rather little characterised. The present study was designed to develop a combination of different approaches to identify P‐gp inhibitors among a large number of pesticides using in ...

Association between dietary pesticide exposure profiles and body weight change in French adults: Results from the NutriNet-Santé cohort

open access: yesEnvironment International
Background: Pesticides cause a wide range of deleterious health effects, including metabolic disorders. Little is known about the effects of dietary pesticide exposure on body weight (BW) change in the general population. We aimed to investigate the role ...

Control of horsenettle regeneration from root fragments with Chlorpropham

open access: yesJournal of Weed Science and Technology, 2005
