Molecular and functional characteristics of seven-transmembrane-domain receptor APJ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
APJ is a member of seven-transmembrane-domain receptors, but its ligand had not been identified for a long time. I prepared CHO cells expressing APJ (CHO-A10 cells), and searched for the endogenous ligand for APJ by monitoring specific signal ...

Room‐Temperature, High‐Resolution Soft Anisotropic Conductive Film for Electrical Interfacing in Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A UV‐crosslinkable soft anisotropic conductive film (ACF) provides high‐resolution, room‐temperature electrical interfacing. Upon UV exposure, azide crosslinkers within the ACF matrix form covalent bonds with a wide range of C–H‐containing materials, resulting in interfaces that are both mechanically durable and electrically reliable.

Role of Surface Proteins in Magnetotaxis-based Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Magnetospirillum magneticum (AMB-1) are a species of magnetotactic bacteria that are capable of orienting along the earth’s magnetic field lines through their organelles called magnetosomes.

Region‐to‐Region Unidirectional Connection In Vitro Brain Model for Studying Directional Propagation of Neuropathologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A unidirectional cerebral organoid–organoid neural circuit is established using a microfluidic platform, enabling controlled directional propagation of electrical signals, neuroinflammatory cues, and neurodegenerative disease–related proteins between spatially separated organoids.

EFP1 is an ER stress-induced glycoprotein which interacts with the pro-apoptotic protein Par-4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We have isolated the rat ortholog of EFP1 (EF-hand binding protein 1) as a novel interaction partner of the pro-apoptotic protein Par-4 (prostate apoptosis response-4).

Canine and Feline Parvoviruses Can Use Human or Feline Transferrin Receptors to Bind, Enter, and Infect Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Canine parvovirus (CPV) enters and infects cells by a dynamin-dependent, clathrin-mediated endocytic pathway, and viral capsids colocalize with transferrin in perinuclear vesicles of cells shortly after entry (J. S. L. Parker and C. R. Parrish, J. Virol.

Complementary Logic Driven by Dielectrophoretic Assembly of 2D Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Scalable, parallel fabrication of complementary logic gates is demonstrated using electric‐field‐driven deterministic assembly of electrochemically exfoliated 2D n‐type MoS2 and p‐type WSe2 nanosheets. This strategy yields MoS2 and WSe2 transistors featuring average mobilities of 4.3 and 3.0 cm2 V−1 s−1, respectively, and on/off ratios of > 104 ...

Spatially Resolved Click Patterning of Dyes on Graphene for 2D Hybrids with Regiotunable Fluorescence

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Well‐structured graphene hybrid architectures featuring spatially resolved fluorescent properties represent a promising but so‐far elusive synthetic target. A robust and straightforward method for fabricating well‐organized graphene‐dye hybrid nanoassemblies through a combination of reductive patterning and conventional click chemistry is presented ...
