NS8593 inhibits sodium nitroprusside-induced chondrocyte apoptosis by mediating the STING signaling pathway

open access: yesHeliyon
Articular cartilage damage and chondrocyte apoptosis are among the distinguishing features of osteoarthritis. (R)-N-(benzimidazol-2-yl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphtylamine (NS8593) is a transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 7 ...

Tall Stature and Scoliosis Associated With a Novel Homozygous Loss‐of‐Function Missense Variant in NPR3

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT NPR3‐related tall stature is characterized by tall stature, elongated big toes, and additional epiphyses in hand and foot bones. The condition is caused by biallelic loss‐of‐function variants affecting natriuretic peptide receptor 3 (NPR3). Five individuals from four different families have been reported.

An in-silico approach to meniscus tissue regeneration: Modeling, numerical simulation, and experimental analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We develop a model the dynamics of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) and chondrocytes evolving in a nonwoven polyethylene terephtalate (PET) scaffold impregnated with hyaluron and supplied with a differentiation medium. The scaffold and the cells are assumed to be contained in a bioreactor with fluid perfusion.

A mouse coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model with tail‐looping constructed using a suturing method

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
A novel, simple coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model, using a suturing method for tail‐looping, without the need for external fixation and complex surgery. The model has high reproducibility and stability and overcomes the disadvantages of the existing animal models of disc degeneration.

Cartilage repair and inhibition of the progression of cartilage degeneration after transplantation of allogeneic chondrocyte sheets in a nontraumatic early arthritis model

open access: yesRegenerative Therapy, 2018
Introduction: Using a rat model of nontraumatic early arthritis induced by intra-articular administration of low-dose monoiodoacetic acid (MIA), we transplanted allogeneic chondrocyte sheets and examined the effects on tissue repair. Methods: MIA (0.2 mg/

Klf10 is involved in extracellular matrix calcification of chondrocytes alleviating chondrocyte senescence

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic degenerative disease resulting joint disability and pain. Accumulating evidences suggest that chondrocyte extracellular matrix calcification plays an important role in the development of OA.

Decellularized Membrane Derived from the Cell-Produced Extracellular Matrix of 1-Day-Old Porcine Cartilage Can Be a Substitute for Periosteal Patches in Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
(1) Autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) is a prominent method for treating cartilage damage, but periosteal patches can cause chondrocyte leakage.

circNR3C2 promotes chondrogenic differentiation and cartilage repair of human adipose‐derived stem cells via the hsa‐miR‐647/SOX9 pathway

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
The hypothesis diagram illustrates the function and mechanism of circNR3C2: circNR3C2 overexpression can up‐regulate COL2, Aggrecan and SOX9 expression, and regulate chondrogenic differentiation of hADSCs by targeting hsa‐miR‐647. Abstract Background Human adipose‐derived stem cells (hADSCs) are seed cells with application prospects in cartilage repair.
