Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Ion exchange chromatography is a chromatography process that separates ions and polar molecules based on their affinity to the ion exchanger. Ion exchange chromatography is probably the most powerful and classic type of liquid chromatography. It can also used for almost all kinds of charged molecule including large proteins, small nucleotides and amino

Hydrophobicity of various cation-exchange columns for ion chromatography
The retention of organic cations including homologues of n-alkylamines, phenylalkylamines, and ethanolamines was investigated for 20 commercially produced cation-exchange columns with varying matrix, bonding chemistry, functional groups, and ion-exchange

A simplified ion exchange bead-based KOH electrodialytic generator for capillary ion chromatography
A simple potassium hydroxide electrodialytic generator (EDG) with singe membrane configuration is described. In this setup, one cation exchange resin (CER) bead is used to fabricate the EDG in place of the common membrane sheet. The device is implemented

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Development and characterisation of monolithic silica stationary phases for ion chromatography [PDF]
Silica based monolithic HPLC columns have received much attention in recent years, particularly those modified for reversed-phase separations. However, for ionexchange, silica based monolithic columns have received only limited attention.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

The use of high performance anion exchange chromatography for the detection of counterfeit pharmaceutical products using the excipient content as a marker [PDF]
The aim of the investigation described here was to examine the differences between genuine and counterfeit pharmaceutical products through the development of an analytical method capable of rigorously identifying the sugar-based excipients.
