This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

EVALUATION OF SOME GROWTH CHARACTERS AND ALKALOID PRODUCTIVITY OF DIPLOIDY AND TETRAPLOIDY FORMS OF Datura stramonium AND Datura innoxia PLANTS [PDF]
Field experiment was conducted to study the diversity in growth parameters and alkaloid production between diploidy and tetra ploidy levels of Datura stramonium and Datura innoxia plants. Increases in plant height.

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Glioblastoma Multiforme with a Peculiar Chromosomal Aberration—Double Minute Chromosomes
The chromosomal aberration of double minute chromosomes (DMS) is a peculiar structural anomaly characterized by the occurrence of strongly varying numbers of often very small, paired chromatin bodies, in addition to the ordinary chromosomes. A glioblastoma multiforme with DMS was found in a 73-year-old female patient, who had received neither radiation

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Present status of haploidy research in onion (Allium cepa) – A review
Research on haploid induction and their subsequent utilization in basic and genomic research and breeding is still at its infancy due to paucity of research efforts, difficulties in various critical steps, large genome size and limited publications ...

The double game of chromosomal inversions in a neotropical butterfly
Over a century after the first description of a polymorphism controlled by a supergene, these genetic architectures still puzzle biologists. Supergenes are groups of tightly linked loci facilitating the co-segregation of combinations of alleles underlying alternative, complex adaptive strategies. The suppression of recombination at
