Label‐Free Impedimetric Determination of Cortisol Using Gold Nanoparticles Functionalized Laser‐Induced Graphene Interdigitated Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Non‐faradaic label‐free impedimetric determination of cortisol is demonstrated with gold nanoparticles (AuNP) functionalized laser‐induced graphene interdigitated electrodes (LIG‐IDE). The AuNP functionalized LIG‐IDE exhibits remarkable characteristics including good logarithmic linear range, high reproducibility, repeatability, and robust selectivity.

Research progress on correlation between circadian rhythm disturbance and work-related musculoskeletal disorders

open access: yes环境与职业医学
Circadian rhythm refers to the 24-hour periodic changes in behavior, physiology, and molecular processes in the human body. Disruptions to the circadian rhythm not only affect mental health but are also associated with various metabolic disorders ...

Effect of exercise based interventions on sleep and circadian rhythm in cancer survivors—a systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ
Background Disrupted circadian rhythm commonly reported in cancer survivors is closely associated with cancer related fatigue, sleep disturbances and compromised quality of life.

Krüppel-like factor 7 deficiency causes autistic-like behavior in mice via regulating Clock gene

open access: yesCell & Bioscience, 2022
Background Krüppel-like factor 7 (klf7), a transcription factor in the nervous system to regulate cell proliferation and differentiation, has been recently identified as a causal gene for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), but the mechanism behind remains ...

Bilirubin Targeting WNK1 to Alleviate NLRP3‐Mediated Neuroinflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
At physiological concentrations, bilirubin binds to the kinase domain of WNK1, thereby augmenting its activity and facilitating the phosphorylation of downstream SPAK/OSR1. This phosphorylation inhibits KCC2 activity, leading to elevate intracellular chloride levels in neurons.

Grape Seed Proanthocyanidins Modulate the Hepatic Molecular Clock via MicroRNAs

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 66, Issue 23, December 2022., 2022
Jet‐lagged rats and HepG2 cells were used to evaluate if the activity of grape seed proanthocyanidins extract (GSPE) as modulator of hepatic clock genes is mediated by miRNAs. GSPE modulates expression of hepatic Bmal1 and miR‐27b‐3p. Moreover, cosinor‐based analysis reveals that both Bmal1 and miR‐27b‐3p expression follow a circadian rhythm and that ...

Evaluation of QT Liability for PF‐05251749 in the Presence of Potential Circadian Rhythm Modification

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology, 2020
PF‐05251749 is a dual inhibitor of casein kinase 1 δ/ε, key regulators of circadian rhythm. As a result of its mechanism of action, PF‐05251749 may also change the heart rate corrected QT (QTc) circadian rhythm, which may confound detection of drug ...

Universality in Kinetic Models of Circadian Rhythms in Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Biological evolution has endowed the plant Arabidopsis thaliana with genetically regulated circadian rhythms. A number of authors have published kinetic models for these oscillating chemical reactions based on a network of interacting genes. To investigate the hypothesis that the Arabidopsis circadian dynamical system is poised near a Hopf bifurcation ...

Robust circadian clocks from coupled protein modification and transcription-translation cycles [PDF]

open access: yesP Natl Acad Sci Usa (2010) vol. 107 (52) pp. 22540-5, 2010
The cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus uses both a protein phosphorylation cycle and a transcription-translation cycle to generate circadian rhythms that are highly robust against biochemical noise. We use stochastic simulations to analyze how these cycles interact to generate stable rhythms in growing, dividing cells.

The Awakening Brain is Characterized by a Widespread and Spatiotemporally Heterogeneous Increase in High Frequencies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work explores the process of morning awakening of the human brain using polysomnography paired with simultaneous stereo‐electroencephalography, a method that provides high spatial and temporal resolution for examining brain activity. Awakening is characterized by an increase in high‐frequency spectral power and connectivity.
