Deterministic separation of cancer cells from blood at 10 mL/min

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and circulating clusters of cancer and stromal cells have been identified in the blood of patients with malignant cancer and can be used as a diagnostic for disease severity, assess the efficacy of different treatment ...

Rational Control of Antibody Orientation for Enhancing Sensitivity and Specificity in Lateral Flow Immunoassays With Clinical Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Systematic investigation of antibody orientation strategies in lateral flow immunoassays reveals that a para‐substituted (aminomethyl)phenylboronic acid mediated probe (P‐6) combined with a biotin‐streptavidin test‐line modification achieves a synergistic 14‐ to 19‐fold sensitivity gain over conventional conjugation. Furthermore, multiplexed detection,

Modeling Early Metastatic Progression in Breast Cancer Using a Barrier‐Free, Perfusable Spheroid‐on‐a‐Chip Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Open‐port, barrier‐free microfluidic device for modeling early metastatic progression. A centrally positioned tumor spheroid releases invasive cells that migrate through the surrounding matrix and intravasate into endothelialized lateral channels.

Bacteria‐Trained, MnO2‐Armored Dendritic Cells for Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
MnO2‐armored, bacteria‐trained dendritic cells undergo tumor‐responsive mechanical and immunological transformation. The nanocoating masks immune ligands and maintains a mechanically stiff, quiescent state during circulation, while the tumor microenvironment removes the armor and restores cellular deformability and immune accessibility.

Abstract 5895: Circulating CAF and cCAF circulating tumor cell co clusters are associated with metastatic breast cancer

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Breast cancer metastasis is the cause of breast cancer-related mortality. The tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a critical role in governing tumor initiation, progression and metastasis. In breast cancer, cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs)

Single-cell profiling reveals distinct populations of tumor-associated macrophages and metastatic tumor cells in breast cancer brain metastasis

open access: yesCell Death and Disease
Breast cancer brain metastasis (BCBM) is a major cause of breast cancer-related mortality, but the molecular mechanisms underlying its progression remain poorly understood.
