Three-dimensional cephalometric evaluation of maxillary growth following in utero repair of cleft lip and alveolar-like defects in the mid-gestational sheep model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Objective: To evaluate maxillary growth following in utero repair of surgically created cleft lip and alveolar (CLA)-like defects by means of three-dimensional (3D) computer tomographic (CT) cephalometric analysis in the mid-gestational sheep model ...

Influence of organic diet on the amount of conjugated linoleic acids in breast milk of lactating women in the Netherlands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The aim of the present study was to find out whether the incorporation of organic dairy and meat products in the maternal diet affects the contents of the conjugated linoleic acid isomers (CLA) and trans-vaccenic acid (TVA) in human breast milk.

Effect of linseed and the combination of conjugated linoleic acid and linseed on the quality and oxidative stability of pig meat and subcutaneous fat

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2016
The aim of this experiment was to test the hypothesis that conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in diets of finishing pigs fed linseed can improve the quality and oxidative stability of meat and subcutaneous fat.

Effect of pH and level of concentrate in the diet on the production of biohydrogenation intermediates in a dual-flow continuous culture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Milk fat depression in cows fed high-grain diets has been related to an increase in the concentration of trans-10 C-18:1 and trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in milk.

TULP4, a novel E3 ligase gene, participates in neuronal migration as a candidate in schizophrenia

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, EarlyView., 2023
Mutations identified from four SCZ pedigrees resulted in decreased TULP4 expression. Tulp4 knockdown caused delayed neuron migration in embryonic mice, and impaired cognition and prepulse inhibition in adult mice. These phenotypes may be related to TULP4 through its involvement in the formation of a novel E3 ubiquitin ligases.

Antitumor effect of iRGD-modified liposomes containing conjugated linoleic acid–paclitaxel (CLA-PTX) on B16-F10 melanoma

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nanomedicine, 2014
In the present study, we prepared a novel delivery system of iRGD (CRGDK/RGPD/EC)-modified sterically stabilized liposomes (SSLs) containing conjugated linoleic acid–paclitaxel (CLA-PTX).

Global capitalism and critical awareness of language. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
As the shape of the new global social order becomes clearer, so too does the need for a critical awareness of language as part of language education. I discuss, with a focus on discourse, several key features of late modern society which help make the ...

Synthesis of (Z,Z)-octadeca-10,12-dienoic acid

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2004
(Z,Z)-Octadeca-10,12-dienoic acid was synthesised by coupling (Z)-1-bromohept-1-ene with protected undec-10-yne-1-ol. Stereoselective hydrogenation of the triple bond of the obtained enyne-system followed by deprotection yielded (Z,ZZ)-octadeca-10,12 ...

Isomer specificity of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA): 9E,11E-CLA [PDF]

open access: yesNutrition Research and Practice, 2008
Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) were identified in 1980's, since then it has been intensively studied due to its various beneficial health effects such as anti-inflammatory, anti-atherogenic, anti-carcinogenic and anti-diabetic/obesity effects. Isomer specificity of a number of CLA isomers, especially predominant isomer 9Z,11E- and 10E,12Z-CLA, is now ...

Endurance Exercise and Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) Supplementation Up-Regulate CYP17A1 and Stimulate Testosterone Biosynthesis

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
A new role for fat supplements, in particular conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), has been delineated in steroidogenesis, although the underlying molecular mechanisms have not yet been elucidated.
