Effect of linseed and the combination of conjugated linoleic acid and linseed on the quality and oxidative stability of pig meat and subcutaneous fat

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2016
The aim of this experiment was to test the hypothesis that conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in diets of finishing pigs fed linseed can improve the quality and oxidative stability of meat and subcutaneous fat.

SINGLE-SPIN ASYMMETRIES AT CLAS [PDF]

open access: yesBaryons 2002, 2003
Significant single‐spin azimuthal asymmetries have been observed in semi‐inclusive pion production in the deep‐inelastic scattering (DIS) of longitudinally polarized electrons off unpolarized hydrogen and polarized NH3 targets at CLAS detector at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab).

Synthesis of (Z,Z)-octadeca-10,12-dienoic acid

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2004
(Z,Z)-Octadeca-10,12-dienoic acid was synthesised by coupling (Z)-1-bromohept-1-ene with protected undec-10-yne-1-ol. Stereoselective hydrogenation of the triple bond of the obtained enyne-system followed by deprotection yielded (Z,ZZ)-octadeca-10,12 ...

The Arginine Repressor ArgR2 Controls Conjugated Linoleic Acid Biosynthesis by Activating the cla Operon in Lactiplantibacillus plantarum

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2022
CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) has attracted substantial attention due to its physiological functions, including regulating immunity, reducing obesity, and contributing to cancer suppression. In Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, CLA oleate hydratase (CLA-HY)

Fatty acid composition of cow milk fat produced on low-input mountain farms

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2009
The fatty acid (FA) composition of bulk milk fat was examined on three mountain dairy farms in the Czech Republic. Milk samples were collected in the period of indoor grass silage feeding (November-April) and in the grazing period (May-October). In total

Biological production of CLA and investigation of anticarcinogenic activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This study investigated a potential mechanism of action underlying the anticancer activity of conjugated lmoleic acid (CLA), referring to a mixture of positional and geometric conjugated isomers of lmoleic acid Ras, an oncogene necessary for normal cell ...

Effects of fat source and dietary sodium bicarbonate plus straw on the conjugated linoleic acid content of milk of dairy cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The effects of fat source (0.7 kg of fatty acids from extruded soybeans or palmitic acid), of sodium bicarbonate (0.3 kg) plus straw (1 kg) and the interaction of these treatments on the content of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in the milk of dairy cows

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.
