Assessing cognition in autistic youth with and without attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder using the NIH Toolbox Cognition Battery: An Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes‐Wide Cohort Study

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Autistic individuals tend to experience difficulties with fluid cognition as found previously, with minimal impact of ADHD. However, there was a notable proportion of autistic individuals with average or superior cognitive performance, highlighting the importance of strength‐based and transdiagnostic research approaches.

Meson Photoproduction (CLAS) [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the XVII International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and Related Topics, 2009
This is a brief and selective discussion of meson photoproduction measurements with the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS) at Jefferson Lab. Meson photo- production is being used as a tool for various investigations, including the spectroscopy of baryons and mesons and the search for vector-meson medium modifications.

EXCLUSIVE VECTOR MESON ELECTROPRODUCTION @ CLAS [PDF]

open access: yesExclusive Reactions at High Momentum Transfer IV, 2011
We present the results of exclusive electroproduction of vector mesons on the proton at CLAS. We discuss the interpretation of these cross sections in terms of t-channel Reggeon exchanges and in terms of Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) formalism.

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA)-enriched milk fat inhibits growth and modulates CLA-responsive biomarkers in MCF-7 and SW480 human cancer cell lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Milk enriched in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) was obtained from cows on pasture supplemented with full-fat rapeseeds (FFR; 2·26g cis 9, trans 11 (c9, t11)-CLA/100g fatty acid methyl esters) and full-fat soyabeans (1·83g c9, t11-CLA/100g fatty acid ...

Measuring system readiness for equity in sepsis care: Survey development and psychometrics

open access: yesJournal of Hospital Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Achieving racial equity in sepsis care is a complex challenge that requires organizational readiness across multiple domains, such as culture and capacity. Objectives This study provides a validated tool to empirically measure health system readiness to address structural racism in sepsis care, essential for improving health equity ...

CLAS: DOUBLE-PION BEAM ASYMMETRY [PDF]

open access: yesNSTAR 2005, 2006
Beam-helicity asymmetries for the gamma+p -> pi+ + pi- + p reaction have been measured for center-of-mass energies between 1.35 GeV and 2.30 GeV at Jefferson Lab with the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer using circularly polarized tagged photons. The beam-helicity asymmetries vary with kinematics and exhibit strong sensitivity to the dynamics of ...

Physiological barriers to oral intake in survivors of critical illness: A scoping review

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Oral nutrition is the predominant mode of nutrition delivery on the post–Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward; yet, it is associated with lower intake than via enteral or parenteral nutrition. There are limited data on barriers that influence oral intake in ICU survivors.

Identifying knowledge barriers to agroforestry adoption and co‐designing solutions to them

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Compared to monocultures, agroforestry can promote biodiversity, ecosystem functioning and climate resilience, whilst maintaining or enhancing production and profits. Despite this, uptake in temperate regions remains low. Knowledge gaps amongst land managers are a primary barrier to uptake, but little is known about which aspects of ...
