Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Language Acquisition and Classical Conditioning

open access: yes, 1973
In this paper it is argued that first language acquisition is essentially based on a process which is, if not identical, at least very similar to classical conditioning.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Optimizing motor skills through classical conditioning theory: Optimizing motor skills through classical conditioning theory

open access: yes, 2016
Over the years, experts have sought varied means of enhancing the learning of motor skills and optimizing motor performance. The role of learning theories in the learning of motor skills has been studied.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Learning to like disgust: Neuronal correlates of counterconditioning

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2013
Converging lines of research suggest that exaggerated disgust responses play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of certain anxiety disorders. One strategy that might effectively alter disgust responses is counterconditioning. In this study,

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Primary Waking Suggestibility and Classical Conditioning of Word Meaning

open access: yes, 1981
Primary waking suggestibility has been related to both instrumental and classical conditioning. The nature of language mediational processes in suggestibility is most closely connected with classical conditioning mechanisms.

The Role of Behaviourist Theory in Educational Technology [PDF]

open access: yesدراسات تربوية و نفسية - مجلة كلية التربية بالزقازيق
Educators from behaviourist theory’s perspective can shape the behaviour and responses of learners to a specific stimulus in order to help them acquire new knowledge.. Research has been performed, previously, into how students learn and gain information,

Mismatch Negativity in Rat Auditory Cortex Represents the Empirical Salience of Sounds

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2018
Mismatch negativity (MMN) is an N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-mediated component and thus has been widely considered a major candidate biomarker of schizophrenia.
