A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

Development of a clone from established Bovine Kidney (BK) cell line and evaluation of its sensitivity to Parainfluenza type 3 and Herpes Simplex type 1 viruses.

open access: yesIranian South Medical Journal, 2009
Background: Application of continuous cell lines has got a special place in the virological researches. These cells are immortal and their chromosomes are aneuploid. Therefore, they can be passage without any limitation.

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

The Man-Simulacrum – the Human Future in Baudrillard’s Perspective

open access: yesПроблеми на постмодерността, 2017
The research studies Jean Baudrillard's conception about the merging of simulation and virtuality and its consequence on the notion and perception of man. It focuses on the duplicate-simulacrum of man that Baudrillard depicts in his works.

Empirical Results On Cloning And Clone Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Cloning means the use of copy-paste as method in developing software artefacts. This practice has several problems, such as unnecessary increase of these artefacts, and thereby increased comprehension and change efforts, as well as potential inconsistencies.
