In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Corrosion resistant coating fabrication through synergies between SiOC conversion and iron oxidation at high temperatures

open access: yesnpj Materials Degradation
High-temperature organic coatings protect assets well at moderately elevated temperatures. However, they degrade severely at higher temperatures (e.g., above 450 °C), leaving little or no corrosion protection to the substrate.

Application of CrAlN coatings on carbide substrates in routing of MDF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This study deals with the development of Chromium Aluminium Nitride (CrAlN) hard coatings (by varying the nitrogen content in the plasma, the target bias voltage, the working pressure and the deposition time) and their characterization by physical and ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Heat Treated NiP–SiC Composite Coatings: Elaboration and Tribocorrosion Behaviour in NaCl Solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Tribocorrosion behaviour of heat-treated NiP and NiP–SiC composite coatings was investigated in a 0.6 M NaCl solution. The tribocorrosion tests were performed in a linear sliding tribometer with an electrochemical cell interface.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Investigation of target erosion profiles sputter-eroded by a low-energy broad ion beam

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
The demand for ion beam sputtering (IBS) coated substrates is growing. In order to find new fields of application for IBS coating technology, it is necessary to understand in detail the distributions of the involved particles in an industrial-scale ...

Development of nickel phosphorus coatings containing micro particles of talc phyllosilicates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The present work aims to characterized nickel phosphorus coatings co-deposited with talc particles on steel. The NiP-talc composite deposits were developed to serve as hard coatings with a lubricating effect at 600 C.
