Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Dynamics of particle-particle collisions in a viscous liquid [PDF]
When two solid spheres collide in a liquid, the dynamic collision process is slowed by viscous dissipation and the increased pressure in the interparticle gap as compared with dry collisions.

Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

The Effect of the Width of an Aluminum Plate on a Bouncing Steel Ball [PDF]
The effect of the distance between clamping supports of an aluminum alloy plate on the coefficient of restitution of a bouncing steel ball was investigated. The plate was supported on two wooden blocks with a meter stick secured on either side.

A Mass-Spring-Damper Model of a Bouncing Ball (Conference proceeding) [PDF]
The mechanical properties of a vertically dropped ball, represented by an equivalent mass-spring-damper model, are related to the coefficient of restitution and the time of contact of the ball during one bounce with the impacting surface. In addition, it

Simulations of vibrated granular medium with impact velocity dependent restitution coefficient [PDF]
We report numerical simulations of strongly vibrated granular materials designed to mimic recent experiments performed both in presence or absence of gravity.

Coefficient of Restitution Interpreted as Damping in Vibroimpact [PDF]
During impact the relative motion of two bodies is often taken to be simply represented as half of a damped sine wave, according to the Kelvin-Voigt model. This is shown to be logically untenable, for it indicates that the bodies must exert tension on one another just before separating.
