Effects of daylength and soil humidity on the flowering of coffee coffea arabica l. in colombia.

open access: yes, 2011
Coffee flowering data were analyzed in order to explore the effect of two environmental variables that have been considered relevant for this process. Pre-anthesis stage flowers were counted in coffee leaf-rust resistant crops at eight experimental stations (between 2°N and 11°N).

Tropical Bee Assemblage Diversity Decreases With Elevation While Body Size Increases

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 4, July 2026.
Photos of bee specimens collected in the Colombian Andes across a nearly 3000 m elevational cline. They are arranged to illustrate both the decline in richness with elevation and the increase in community average body size with elevation. ABSTRACT Elevation gradients are powerful drivers of changes in species composition, richness, and functional ...

Temperature Impacts on Mating and Oviposition of the Emerald Ash Borer, Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 7, Page 715-724, July 2026.
The emerald ash borer (EAB), Agrilus planipennis, threatens ash trees in North America and Europe. To assess the role of temperature on EAB reproduction, we reared adults at one of four temperatures (12°C, 15°C, 18°C, and 21°C) and measured reproductive success.

Thinking Together; A Social Care Learning Community, ‘10 Minutes of Britney’ and Flourishing Lives

open access: yesJournal of Applied Research in Intellectual Disabilities, Volume 39, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background People with intellectual disabilities continue to experience poor support despite considerable research evidence about what could be improved. Methods An online learning community of people with intellectual disabilities, carers, and social care staff, grounded in Sen's Capability Approach, explored how good support can be delivered

Leaf Fungal Microbiome Is Modulated by Interspecific Hybridization Events Between Coffea Species

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 178, Issue 4, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT Increasing attention has been given to the host phylogeny and domestication roles in shaping plant‐associated microbiomes. However, the interspecific effects of hybridization on microbial communities remain poorly understood. We investigated the effects of interspecific hybridization on the composition, diversity, ecological organization, and ...

Innovating Electrosynthesis From Metal Electrodeposition to Organic Chemistry: Deep Eutectic Solvents as Efficient and Sustainable Media

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
This review analyzes deep eutectic solvents (DESs) as efficient media for both organic and inorganic electrosynthesis. The improvements in terms of synthetic opportunities and sustainability are discussed, by exploring the multiple roles of DESs as solvents, electrolytes, and promoters, enabling effective and selective electrosynthesis under mild and ...

Coffee with Cattleya. [PDF]

open access: yes
The image captures a Cattleya orchid in full bloom, positioned next to a coffee mug displaying the UFMS symbol. The composition balances the natural beauty of the flower with the everyday element of the mug, suggesting a connection between nature and the
