Prospects for direct dark matter searches in the constrained mssm

open access: yes, 2007
We outline the WIMP dark matter parameter space in the Constrained MSSM by performing a comprehensive statistical analysis that compares with experimental data predicted superpartner masses and other collider observables as well as a cold dark matter ...

Are the Galaxies with Indefinitely Flat Circular Velocities Located Inside Large Dark Matter Haloes?

open access: yesUniverse
A recent study using weak gravitational lensing revealed that the rotation curves of some isolated galaxies are found at a very large distance from their galactic centres. This may provide strong evidence supporting Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) and

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Constraining dark energy using real and mock galaxy surveys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this thesis, we study how dark energy may be constrained by measurements of large-scale clustering in future galaxy surveys, and through the imprint of a time-varying large-scale potential on the CMB (the integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect).

Stellar Cores Live Long and Prosper in Cuspy Dark Matter Halos

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
The existence of cuspy or cored centers of dark matter halos is a crucial discriminant between different dark matter models. It has recently been claimed based on dynamical arguments that perfectly cored stellar systems cannot survive inside cuspy dark ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

POM‐Based Water Splitting Catalyst Under Acid Conditions Driven by Its Assembly on Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A newly‐engineered POM‐based electrocatalyst incorporating non‐innocent counter cations exhibits fast kinetics for either the OER or HER under strongly acidic conditions (1 m H2SO4), depending on whether it is assembled on carbon nanotubes (1@CNT) or physically mixed with them (1/CNT). In water‐splitting tests using a two‐electrode setup, these systems

Baryonic dark matter

open access: yes, 1997
Reasons supporting the idea that most of the dark matter in galaxies and clusters of galaxies is baryonic are discussed. Moreover, it is argued that most of the dark matter in galactic halos should be in the form of MACHOs and cold molecular ...

On an interacting ghost dark energy model in a non-flat universe with accelerating expansion

open access: yesPapers in Physics
An interacting ghost dark energy with experimental constraint in a non-flat universe with accelerating expansion is studied in this report. Based on the linear relationship between dark energy and the Hubbard function, it is found that the non ...

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.
