Exocomets size distribution in the $$\beta$$ β Pictoris planetary system
The star $$\beta$$ β Pictoris harbors a young planetary system of about 20 million years old, which is characterized by the presence of a gaseous and dusty debris disk, at least two massive planets and many minor bodies.

Cytotoxicity and Genotoxicity Evaluation of Fluorapatite/bioactive Glass Nanocomposite Foams With Two Various Weight Ratios as Bone Tissue Scaffold: an in vitro study [PDF]
The optimization of biomaterials biodegradation rate similar to tissue regeneration, is one of the main goals in the field of tissue engineering. However, the necessity to assess their possible toxicity is always considered.

Assessment of Cellular Damage by Comet Assay After Photodynamic Therapy in vitro
The aim of this study was analysis of DNA damage in the cell line of the human melanoma G361 after photodynamic therapy (PDT) by comet assay. Photodynamic therapy is based on cytotoxic action of sensitizers (10 µM ZnTPPS4 fixed into 1 mM cyclodextrin ...

Identification of Shigella flexneri IcsA residues affecting interaction with N-WASP, and evidence for IcsA-IcsA co-operative interaction. [PDF]
The Shigella flexneri IcsA (VirG) protein is a polarly distributed outer membrane protein that is a fundamental virulence factor which interacts with neural Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein (N-WASP). The activated N-WASP then activates the Arp2/3 complex

Actin comet tails, endosomes and endosymbionts [PDF]
SUMMARYThe Arp2/3 complex consists of seven highly conserved and tightly associated subunits, two of which are the actin-related proteins Arp2 and Arp3. One of the best-studied functions of the Arp2/3 complex is to stimulate actin nucleation and force production at the leading edge of motile cells.

High‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) is plagued by platinum resistance, with malignant ascites closely linked to poor outcomes. Here, we identify ASCOR, a circRNA enriched in ascites small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) from platinum‐resistant HGSOC patients, as a predictor of poor survival. ASCOR enhances platinum resistance in vitro and in vivo

Pro‐ATO/Allicin Liposomes for Dual‐Pathway Targeting of p53‐Mutant Tumors
Schematic illustration of the “pro‐ATO”/allicin liposomal strategy. Liposomal encapsulation improves the stability and bioavailability of both agents while masking allicin's odor. Upon release in the tumor microenvironment, ATO reactivates structural p53 mutants, and allicin inhibits ATR signaling while releasing H2S, collectively inducing synthetic ...

Recurrent Cometary Activity Discovered on Quasi-Hilda Jupiter Family Comet 362P/(457175) 2008 GO98
We report the discovery of recurrent activity on quasi-Hilda comet (QHC) 362P/(457175) 2008 GO _98 . The first activity epoch was discovered during the perihelion passage of 362P in 2016, so we were motivated to observe it for recurrent cometary activity

TRIM25 acts as a multifunctional hub driving intervertebral disc degeneration under mechanical stress. Mechanical compression significantly upregulates TRIM25 expression, establishing it as a key E3 ubiquitin ligase platform. TRIM25 targets PARG and Ku80 via distinct molecular interfaces, triggering their ubiquitination and degradation.
