Bacterial cartels at steady supply [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Metagenomics has revealed hundreds of bacterial species in almost all microbiota. In a few well-studied cases, bacterial communities have been observed to coordinate their metabolic fluxes. In principle, bacteria can divide tasks to reap the benefits of specialization, as in human economies.

Electrochemical‐Genetic Programming of Protein‐Based Magnetic Soft Robots for Active Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This manuscript presents a protein‐based soft robot for active drug delivery. Stimuli‐responsive protein is rationally designed and processed into the substrate of robots. Superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles are patterned on the substrate using an electrochemical method, enabling the robot to respond to external physical fields.

MdDSK2a‐Like‐MdMTA Module Functions in Apple Cold Response via Regulating ROS Detoxification and Cell Wall Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under cold stress, MdDSK2a‐like is degraded via the 26S proteasome pathway, thereby alleviating the degradation of MdMTA induced by the 26S proteasome and autophagy pathways mediated by MdDSK2a‐like. The accumulated MdMTA increases the m6A levels of cold‐responsive genes, thereby contributing to increased ROS detoxification, deposition of cell wall, as
