Bone marrow determination of complement dependent and complement independent cellular cytotoxicity
Cellular Immunology, 1975Abstract Adoptive transfer of both bone marrow and thymus cells is needed in lethally irradiated syngeneic mice to elicit CICC and CDCC responses against SRBC as assayed by the 51 Cr-release cytotoxic test. The contribution of thymocytes to both CDCC and CICC was assessed by limiting dilution assays in BDF 1 and CDF 1 mice.

A Comparative Study: Flow Cytometry, Complement-dependent Cytotoxicity, and Luminex Methods
Transplantation Proceedings, 2019The cell-based flow cytometric and bead-based Luminex crossmatch methods have been used alongside the standard complement-dependent cytotoxic crossmatch (CDCXM) test to detect donor specific anti-HLA antibodies. In this study, it was aimed to compare flow cytometric crossmatch (FCXM), CDCXM, and Luminex donor-specific crossmatch (LM-XM) tests for pre ...

We have evaluated phagocytosis. C3‐binding and cytotoxicity of human leukocytes simultaneously, using IgM‐sensitized C3‐fragment‐bearing sheep erythrocytes (EAC3b. EAC3bi) as targets. In this method, 51Cr‐labelled EAC3b or EAC3bi were added to human peripheral granulocytes anchored by fibronectin onto microtitre plate wells, The degrees of haemolysis ...

Mortalin inhibitors sensitize K562 leukemia cells to complement‐dependent cytotoxicity
International Journal of Cancer, 2009AbstractMortalin, the mitochondrial hsp70, is a vital constitutively expressed heat shock protein. Its elevated expression has been correlated with malignant transformation and poor cancer prognosis. Cancer cells exhibit increased resistance to complement‐dependent cytotoxicity, partly due to their capacity to eliminate the complement membrane attack ...

Abstract Abstract 3575 Unconjugated monoclonal antibodies (MoAb) have proven value in the therapy of CLL, and alemtuzumab (ALEM) has efficacy in patients with purine analog refractory/p53 defective disease. Although the mechanisms of action of ALEM in vivo are not fully defined, complement dependant cytotoxicity (CDC ...

Immunohistochemical analysis by indirect immunoperoxidase staining demonstrated that monoclonal antibody (mAb) K2.7, derived from a mouse immunized with a renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cell line OS-RC-2, reacted with 89 of 95 renal cancer tissues (94%).

Functional Analysis of CD59 Using Complement-Dependent Cytotoxicity Assay
2013CD59 overexpression has been shown to confer the resistance of tumors to complement lysis. Complement lysis is one of the two major killing mechanisms of therapeutic anticancer antibodies. This chapter provides a method that allows studying the extent of complement protection of tumors by CD59.
