The effect of concanavalin A on the replication of rotavirus (SA-11) in cell culture
Rotavirus (RV) strain SA-11 was studied with respect to its infectivity in MA-104 cell cultures and the effect of concanavalin A (ConA). Receptors for ConA at the surface of MA-104 cell were determined by fluorescence assay and specifically inhibited by ...

Computational insights into the circular permutation roles on ConA binding and structural stability
The mechanisms behind Concanavalin A (ConA) circular permutation have been under investigation since 1985. Although a vast amount of information is available about this lectin and its applications, the exact purpose of its processing remains unclear.

Conformational Changes in Concanavalin A
Abstract The circular dichroic spectrum of homogeneous concanavalin A shows changes in the near ultraviolet upon specific binding of α-methyl-d-mannoside. The far ultraviolet spectrum shows no evidence of α helical structure but most closely resembles the spectrum of the model for type II-β structure, poly-S-carboxymethyl-l-cysteine.

Extraction and Purification of Laccases from Rice Stems
Laccases are found in cell walls of plants in very low amounts. This protocol provides an efficient method to purify laccases from rice stems. The method involves three steps: 1) Isolation of total protein from rice stems using buffers with high salt ...

Microarray‐based transcriptional profiling of a mouse model of autoimmune hepatitis
Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are RNA molecules longer than 200 nucleotides that do not typically code for a protein. lncRNAs have regulatory roles in many physiological processes, and their dysregulation can contribute to cancer, cardiovascular and ...
