Institutional Fragility and E‐Business Adoption: A Study of SMEs in a Conflict‐Affected Economy

open access: yesStrategic Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines e‐business adoption among SMEs in Yemen, a conflict‐affected and institutionally fragile economy. Drawing on a mixed‐methods design, it combines Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS‐SEM) with qualitative interviews to analyse how war and firm size moderate the effects of key adoption drivers and barriers.

The Double Pivot: A Mixed‐Methods Case Study of the NSF I‐Corps Customer Discovery Process in a University‐Spun Health AI Venture

open access: yesStrategic Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Deep‐technology ventures, particularly in medical artificial intelligence (AI), face a persistent “valley of death” where promising innovations fail to find viable business models despite technical merit. While the NSF I‐Corps program addresses this through structured customer discovery, little empirical research validates how specific market ...

Avoiding “Failure of Foresight” or Tunnel Vision Requires a Multi‐Paradigmatic Strategic Decision‐Making Approach

open access: yesStrategic Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper considers the tensions between different organizational strategic decision‐making approaches at various levels of uncertainty. Of particular focus are the mechanisms for defaulting to lower uncertainty, from the Cynefin framework's unordered chaotic and complex domains to the more ordered complicated and obvious domains.

Sensory and chemical profiles of bread derived from the novel semi‐ and wholegrain flour enrichment of Triticum aestivum L. old genotypes with organic stinging nettle

open access: yesJSFA reports, Volume 5, Issue 3, Page 104-112, March 2025.
Abstract Background Bread made from refined Triticum aestivum L. flour, a staple food in large parts of the world, is considered a nutrient security risk. Strategies used to enhance the nutritional and functional properties of wheat‐derived food products include the use of semi‐ or wholegrain flour, old genotypes, and enrichment through fortification ...

Conditioned taste aversion and amygdala lesions in the rat: A critical review

open access: yesNeuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews, 2005
Studies using permanent lesions implicate the amygdala, a recipient of gustatory and viscerosensory information, in taste aversion learning. Reviewing this literature with respect to the location of the lesions and the quality of the behavioral ...

Conditioned taste aversion: a database

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 2004
The present commentary describes the availability of a database on conditioned taste aversion learning, the avoidance of fluids and foods previously associated with the aversive effects of a variety of drugs. The database includes articles as early as 1955 by Garcia and his colleagues [Science 122 (1955) 127] (reporting such avoidance in rats) and ...

Conditioned taste aversions: Generalization to taste mixtures

Physiology & Behavior, 1984
Rats were trained to take their daily water ration within a 30-min session, during which the number of licks per 10-sec presentation of a drinking tube could be recorded. During one of these sessions, one of three stimuli (sucrose, NaCl or HCl) was presented, followed by the administration of cyclophosphamide to produce a conditioned taste aversion ...

Conditioned taste aversion, drugs of abuse and palatability [PDF]

open access: yesNeuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews, 2014
We consider conditioned taste aversion to involve a learned reduction in the palatability of a taste (and hence in amount consumed) based on the association that develops when a taste experience is followed by gastrointestinal malaise. The present article evaluates the well-established finding that drugs of abuse, at doses that are otherwise considered

Conditioned taste aversion: modulation by 5-HT receptor activity and corticosterone

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pharmacology, 2003
Two experiments were designed to elucidate the involvement of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and the 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) system in the acquisition of lithium chloride-conditioned taste aversion.

Conditioned taste aversion and traditional learning

Psychological Research, 1985
The generality of the laws of learning has been questioned on the basis of the results of conditioned taste aversion (CTA) experiments. The results of CTA experiments and of traditional learning (TL) experiments are compared in order to evaluate whether CTA and TL indeed follow different rules.
