Flux lattices reformulated

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2012
We theoretically explore the optical flux lattices produced for ultra-cold atoms subject to laser fields where both the atom–light coupling and the effective detuning are spatially periodic. We analyze the geometric vector potential and the magnetic flux

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Soliton sheets of Bose–Einstein condensates in optical lattices

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Soliton sheets are observed in Bose–Einstein condensates in optical lattice which are formed by superposition of condensates occupying different single-particle states. These structures consist of one-dimensional stationary solitons distributed in the x -

Bohmian Mechanics at Space-Time Singularities. I. Timelike Singularities

open access: yes, 2018
We develop an extension of Bohmian mechanics to a curved background space-time containing a singularity. The present paper focuses on timelike singularities.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Large fluctuations and irreversibility in nonequilibrium systems. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Large rare fluctuations in a nonequilibrium system are investigated theoretically and by analogue electronic experiment. It is emphasized that the optimal paths calculated via the eikonal approximation of the Fokker-Planck equation can be identified with

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Verification and Generation of Safe Straight Paths for a 4-DOF Spherical Manipulator

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2011
Sometimes in a manufacturing environment, a robotic arm is wanted to move in a straight path such as welding, painting and assembling. This straight path causes the manipulator to actuate all or most of its joints in the same time to track the path ...

Dynamics of perturbed singular configuration of three point vortices [PDF]

open access: yesNelineinaya Dinamika, 2008
Summary: Motion of three point vortices in a perturbed singular configuration is studied numerically and analytically. Several cases of the motion are analyzed according to location of the vorticity center to the orbit of one of the vortices. For each of these cases the trajectories of vortices are calculated.
