Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Development of Conjugated Linoleic Acid and C18:1 content during in vitro rumen fermentation of dried and green forage

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2011
Milk and dairy products contain important compounds which are strongly related to the kind and quality of feeds. Milk fat is a source of potential anticarcinogens as the conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) isomers. Cis9, trans11 CLA is the major isomer, named

Gut Microbiota‐Derived Anandamide Mediates the Therapeutic Effects of Urolithin A on Alcohol‐Induced Cognitive and Social Dysfunction via CB1R‐DRD2‐RAP1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that Urolithin A (UA) counteracts alcohol‐induced cognitive and social dysfunction (AICSD) via a gut microbiome‐dependent mechanism. UA‐enriched Bacteroids sartorii and Parabacteroids distasonis elevate anandamide (AEA), which activates the CB1R‐DRD2‐Rap1 signaling cascade to drive synaptic repair and reduce neuroinflammation ...

Effect of animal and industrial trans fatty acids on HDL and LDL cholesterol levels in humans--a quantitative review. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
Trans fatty acids are produced either by industrial hydrogenation or by biohydrogenation in the rumens of cows and sheep. Industrial trans fatty acids lower HDL cholesterol, raise LDL cholesterol, and increase the risk of coronary heart disease.

A Novel Function of Nonadecanoic Acid in Regulating Glucose Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the odd‐chain fatty acid C19:0 as an endogenous ligand of GPR120 that promotes glucose homeostasis via Gαq signaling. In obesity, elevated palmitic acid suppresses endogenous C19:0 production through a miRNA–PPARα–HACL1 pathway, offering a promising direction for understanding the role of OCFAs in human health.

CLAs, nature, origin and some metabolic aspects

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2005
CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a generic term for several isomers of linoleic acid with conjugated double bonds. They have been reported since 1935 in butter fat, but the major natural isomer (9cis,11trans-18 :2) was identified in 1977 and further ...

Conjugated Linoleic Acid Impairs Endothelial Function [PDF]

open access: yesArteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, 2006
Objectives— To determine the effect of dietary supplementation with conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) on body mass index (BMI), body fat distribution, endothelial function, and markers of cardiovascular risk.

T Cell Exhaustion in Cancer Immunotherapy: Heterogeneity, Mechanisms, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell exhaustion limits immunotherapy efficacy. This article delineates its progression from stem‐like to terminally exhausted states, governed by persistent antigen, transcription factors, epigenetics, and metabolism. It maps the exhaustion landscape in the TME and proposes integrated reversal strategies, providing a translational roadmap to overcome

Metarhizium anisopliae Mitigates the Phytotoxicity of Lead and Nanoplastics on Rice by Modifying Physiological, Transcriptomic, Metabolomic Activities, and Soil Microbiome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metarhizium anisopliae alleviates the phytotoxic effects of polyethylene nanoplastics (NP) and lead (Pb) in rice by decreasing Pb uptake, restoring antioxidant and hormonal equilibrium, and promoting growth. Additionally, the fungus modifies the rhizosphere microbiota, enhancing both contaminant tolerance and plant growth, thereby effectively ...
