Efficacy of surgical intervention in modern complex treatment for tuberculosis with multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant pathogen

open access: yesActa Biomedica Scientifica
Background. One of the top priorities in phthisiology at present is the problem of tuberculosis treatment with multiple drug resistance (MDR) and extensive drug resistance (XDR) Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MBT).

Life extending control for rocket engines [PDF]

open access: yes
The concept of life extending control is defined. A brief discussion of current fatigue life prediction methods is given and the need for an alternative life prediction model based on a continuous functional relationship is established. Two approaches to

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

A comparison of continuously controlled and controlled K-theory

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 1996
We define an unreduced version of the e-controlled lower $K$-theoretic groups of Ranicki and Yamasaki, and Quinn. We show that the reduced versions of our groups coincide (in the inverse limit and its first derived, $\lim^1$) with those of Ranicki and Yamasaki.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

The Experience of Observational Departments’ Functioning for Treatment of Patients with Tuberculosis from COVID-19 Contact and Convalescents after COVID-19

open access: yesЭпидемиология и вакцинопрофилактика
Relevance. To control COVID-19, a net of special infection hospitals and departments was created, a system of medicaments and protective means’ supply was set up, necessary normative and regulatory documentation was developed and overall vaccination of ...

Quality Control in Continuing Education

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Physiotherapy, 1984
A quality continuing education programme may be seen as one which is of a high standard, relevant and viable. Efforts made to ensure the quality of continuing education should be directed towards these three ends. Where possible learners should be involved in programme planning, implementation and evaluation and should be encouraged to put their ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...
