Reconstitution of Contractile FtsZ Rings in Liposomes
FtsZ is a tubulin homolog and the major cytoskeletal protein in bacterial cell division. It assembles into the Z ring, which contains FtsZ and a dozen other division proteins, and constricts to divide the cell. We have constructed a membrane-targeted FtsZ (FtsZ-mts) by splicing an amphipathic helix to its C terminus.

Septin filament compaction into rings requires the anillin Mid2 and contractile ring constriction
Septin filaments assemble into high-order molecular structures that associate with membranes, acting as diffusion barriers and scaffold proteins crucial for many cellular processes. How septin filaments organize in such structures is still not understood.

The Role of the Contractile Ring during Cytokinesis [PDF]
Cytokinesis in animals and fungi involves constriction of an actomyosin contractile ring, but the constriction mechanisms and the role of the ring are not established. The constriction rate could be determined only by the properties and internal dynamics of the ring itself (a “dynamically autonomous” mechanism) as suggested by recent experiments on C ...

Quantitative analysis of cytokinesis in situ during C. elegans postembryonic development. [PDF]
The physical separation of a cell into two daughter cells during cytokinesis requires cell-intrinsic shape changes driven by a contractile ring. However, in vivo, cells interact with their environment, which includes other cells.

Stress generation and filament turnover during actin ring constriction. [PDF]
We present a physical analysis of the dynamics and mechanics of contractile actin rings. In particular, we analyze the dynamics of ring contraction during cytokinesis in the Caenorhabditis elegans embryo.

Analyzing Contractile Ring Dynamics in Mid-Embryogenesis of C. Elegans
During cell division, a contractile ring made up of actin fibers, myosin motor ensembles, and cross linkers contracts to cleave one cell into two. How this large and complex molecular structure organizes and re-arranges as it constricts remains largely ...

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
