Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Problem of optimal control system synthesis

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Engineering Research, 2008
Problem of control system synthesis is considered, when control depends from state space vector. Analytic and calculation problems of synthesis and paths for decision of them are focused.

Height and attitude tracking control of an unmanned helicopter via a HDOB-backstepping composite control method

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This study studies the height and attitude tracking control problem of an unmanned helicopter system with disturbances. A composite controller based on the combination of harmonic disturbance observers and backstepping technique is proposed to achieve ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Switching Hinf Control Synthesis Designs for Networked Control Systems

open access: yes2013 19th International Conference on Control Systems and Computer Science, 2013
This paper investigates joint stabilization and disturbance attenuation problem of for a class of networked control systems subject to disturbance and packet dropout in the transmission channel. A condition for exponential stabilization of networked control systems under a given switching rule is derived by employing multiple Lyapunov-like functions. A

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Compositional abstraction and safety synthesis using overlapping symbolic models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we develop a compositional approach to abstraction and safety synthesis for a general class of discrete time nonlinear systems. Our approach makes it possible to define a symbolic abstraction by composing a set of symbolic subsystems that ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
